Pears - D'Anjou - 2 pcs
| • Ripen d'Anjou pears at room temperature. Note: unlike other pear varieties, their color does not change as they ripen.
• Depending on their level of ripeness when purchased, Anjou pears may take between three and five days to become fully ripe. Once ripe, you can store them in the refrigerator, where the ripening process will be slowed for a few more days.
|Commonly referred to by their French name, “d' Anjou,” Anjou pears are the second-most recognizable pear variety in the United States. Anjou pears have a mild flavor and a firm texture, while still being sweet and juicy. They can be green or red (which are often labelled "Red Anjou" or even simple "red pears"), but the color doesn't indicate any major flavor or texture difference. Anjous are great for eating out of hand or for cooking—PEAR-fect for just about any use, from slicing fresh into salads to baking into pies to pureeing for sauces and beverages.
Anjou pears are harvested October through May.
